terms
these terms are an agreement between you and the maker of glim (“we,” “us”) covering the glim app and this website (together, the “service”). by using the service, you agree to them.
what glim is — and isn’t
glim is an AI-powered companion app for reflection and company. glim is an AI, not a person, and the app will always be honest about that. glim is not a medical device, a therapist, a crisis service, or a substitute for professional care of any kind. its replies are generated by software and can be wrong, incomplete, or oddly phrased — don’t rely on them as medical, legal, financial, or safety advice.
if you are in crisis, contact local emergency services, or in the US call or text 988 (suicide & crisis lifeline). if the app detects a conversation involving self-harm, it is designed to step back and point you to human help instead of engaging.
who can use glim
you must be at least 13 to use glim (or older where your local law requires it). glim is not directed to children under 13. if you’re under 18, use glim with a parent or guardian’s knowledge — and glim will periodically remind younger users that it’s an AI and that breaks are good.
your words stay yours
anything you tell glim remains yours. you give us only the narrow permission we need to run the service — processing your messages to generate replies and the memories your glim keeps. we don’t claim ownership of your conversations, ever.
our stuff stays ours
the glim character, world, artwork, name, and code belong to us. you may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the service, or use the glim character and art commercially without permission. personal screenshots and posts about glim are always welcome.
be decent
use glim lawfully and kindly. don’t attempt to break, overload, scrape, or misuse the service; don’t use it to generate harm; don’t try to extract other people’s data from it.
memberships & virtual items
glim’s core companionship is free during the beta. if paid memberships or in-app items ship later, they’ll be billed through the app store you use, refunds will follow that store’s rules, and any in-app currency or items have no real-world monetary value and can’t be exchanged for cash.
the honest disclaimers
the service is provided as-is, especially while in beta: features may change, break, or disappear, and we can’t promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. to the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, during a free beta, may be zero).
ending things
you can stop using glim any time, and ask us to delete your data (see the privacy note). we may suspend accounts that break these terms — with notice and a reason, except where the misuse is severe.
changes
if these terms change in a way that matters, we’ll say so in the app and on this page with a fresh date — never silently.
